The machine I just bought covers my needs it is a Pfaff 1142 hobby sewing machine it does straight sewing as well as different stitches. It sews on regular fabric to stretch fabric. does buttonholes, zigzags, reverse, It has different pressure feet for different stitches. It is amazing I haven't learned all there is to this machine.Also has a lot of the implements for the machine when you buy it. It wasn't too expensive but the most expensive machine isn't always the best. If you are into just straight sewing and not too fancy. It is a good machine. I was raised to sew and can use anything but I highly recommend this lightweight, easy to use and understand machine for loww cost, long wear and It will handle anything from sheerest chiffons to several thicknesses of fleece.
