I only wash used clothing.
I wash it as I get it.
I leave the tags on new clothing and see no point in washing it before using it.
I only use Tide on our clothing. One of my children has an allergy to certain detergents.

I started at about 34 weeks, but only washed a few unisex clothes, as ultrasounds can be wrong. I kept the tags on clothes until the baby was born, to be sure that it was in fact a boy.

I was all of the family's clothes in Purex Free and Clear, as I have a sensitivity to fragrances. I would suggest washing your baby's clothes in a free and clear detergent, and don't bother with the baby detergents such as Dreft, they are a waste of money, really.

I started right when I got them...about same time as you, but then Ihad to wash them again cause they got the "new drawer" smell! I re-washed everything closer to 37 weeks!! I used to use Ivory Snow (powder) or Dreft...now I buy the target brand of "Dreft" or the ALL Free and Clear. I use the Downy free and clear for fabric softener. Makes my little angel smell so yummy!! She is now 1 yr old and I started using the off bruinds after the first 2 months, detergent gets SPENDY!! Good luck!

I am 31 weeks pregnant and I just started washing two weeks ago. I dont want to wait until the last minute to get everything done that needs to be done, because there is plenty of it...lol.. I think that anytime to start for you is a good time... Use Dreft, even though its a little pricey... I also bought Baby ALL, and it is wonderful, it smells amazing!! Good Luck!!

I just washed them as I got them and used Dreft detergent. However, I now use our regular detergent and our baby doesn't have a problem with it. But definitely use a dye free/fragrance free detergent at first because your little one's skin is really sensitive. I know All makes one for babies as well.

wait until nearer the time so they are more fresh for when the baby first wears them, some clothes may need several washes first especially if they are in a package which makes lines through the sleeves etc. there are a few different detergents which are designed for baby clothes and as they are good to their skin, the main one i can think of from the top of my head is Comfort.

I am already washing clothes, due in Sept.

I always use DEFT, they sell it with all the baby stuff, like diapers and baby shampoo, pretty much everywhere. If you can't find it where you live then any sensitive skin formulas will work just great.

You can never be too prepared!
