When people think of having a baby, they rarely think far in advance. They imagine the newborn baby in their arms, in the tiny little clothes, but they don’t think that they will need to buy that very same bundle of joy new clothes every couple of months, and then every year, for the next eighteen years. The average child goes through thousands of dollars of clothes during their childhood, yet the only gifts you get when you have a baby are newborn outfits. So, where do you go to get cheap kids clothes?
The first thing you should do, before you even go shopping, is request that people buy you clothes for an older child when you have your baby. Most people will buy newborn baby clothes because they are so cute and cheap, but when the baby grows out of them, you will have nothing for them to wear! So, ask your friends and family to buy clothes for older ages so that your baby has something to grow into.

If you go to certain dollar stores, you are sure to find all kinds of cheap kids clothes. That said, if you start looking at the quality of each garment, you will realize they aren’t much of a bargain. In fact, you may be very upset when these garments fall apart after one washing, or they do not fit properly. Therefore, no matter where you decide to shop for children’s clothing, you will need to find some way to assess garment durability.
To begin, you should always look at each seam in cheap kids clothes. Do you see spots where the thread is jumbled up or knotted? When you put a garment like this in the washing machine, you can expect these areas to pull apart and develop holes. Are there places where the seam is too close to the edge of the fabric? If you buy this particular item, you can rest assured that it will tear part within a very short period of time. In addition, if you try to mend these areas, you will find it very difficult.
