Keeping your kids in clothes can get to be pretty expensive, especially if you have more than one child.  You can save money on cotton kid’s clothes for the summer months by buying their clothes at a children’s clothes outlet.  If you live near an outlet, you can take your kids with you to have them try on clothes to make sure you have the right sizes.  Kids can be really hard on clothes, as well as many other things, so don’t spend a fortune on them.

You can try shopping at second hand stores as well.  You will save a ton of money so you can buy a lot more items than if you were paying retail prices at the mall. You can even find name brand clothes at a second hand store.  As long as the cotton kids clothes are in good shape and look good, why not buy second hand?  You kids will not be wearing the clothes for long anyway. If you just had a baby or are about to have a baby, you are probably scrambling to find clothes for the first month or two of your baby’s life.  In the beginning they will need quite a few outfits, because they need cleaned up several times a day. If you are having a boy, you can find infant boy clothes in several different places.  You can go to the shopping center and pay retail prices for baby clothes.  Keep in mind though, that your baby is going to be able to wear his newborn clothes for a couple weeks to one month only.

Here are a few keys to buying any infant clothing items:

1. Remember that infants grow very fast.  You don’t want to spend top dollar on clothes that your child will throw up on repeatedly, and grow out of in a few weeks.

2. Don’t buy clothes that are difficult to wash or take care of. In other words, linen is not for children!

3. Buy the darkest clothing you can find. Kids and white clothes do not mix.

You can also save money on infant boy clothes by shopping at a wholesale children’s clothing outlet. The clothes at a wholesale outlet may be a bit irregular but you can see the clothing before you buy it and judge whether the irregularity really makes a difference or not.  Keep in mind that your child will wear these clothing items for a very short time and then he will outgrow them.

You may find second hand infant boy clothes on sites like Ebay. You can get a good idea of what the clothes look like right on the site.  You can’t touch them or see what they feel like, but you will get them for a price that will make that disadvantage less of an impact.  It’s kind of like buying second hand clothes without trying them on.  You might be willing to do that if they look right and the price is right.
